Style Taylor sjuttonde singel på topp 10
Taylor Swift’s “Style” goes top ten on the Billboard Hot 100.
The music video might not have been a smash hit in the vein of “Blank Space,” but it still helped Taylor Swift’s “Style” vault into the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100.
After cracking the top twenty last week, Swift’s latest “1989” single rises to #10 on this week’s edition of the all-encompassing listing. It becomes the third top ten hit from the album and the seventeenth of Swift’s career.
Swift now ties Aretha Franklin’s mark for sixth-most Hot 100 top ten hits. Only Madonna (38), Mariah Carey (27), Janet Jackson (27), Rihanna (26) and Whitney Houston (23) are responsible for more.
In addition to the late-week streaming activity associated with its video, “Style” also benefited from big airplay gains. The track enjoyed sizable rises on the pop, adult pop, adult contemporary and rhythmic radio formats.

Taylor Swift's 1989 album returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a milestone 10th nonconsecutive week, making Swift just the second woman in history to earn two albums with at least 10 weeks atop the list.Swift previously logged 11 weeks at No. 1 with her second album, Fearless, in 2008 and 2009. (She has two further No. 1s: Speak Now, with six weeks at No. 1, and Red, with seven weeks in the penthouse.)
1989 steps back to No. 1 (rising 2-1) with 101,000 equivalent album units earned (down 15 percent) in the week ending Feb. 1, according to Nielsen Music. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).
Swift follows Whitney Houston as the only woman with multiple albums with 10 weeks at No. 1. Houston managed the feat three times: with her self-titled debut (14 weeks in 1986), her second album, Whitney (11 weeks in 1987) and The Bodyguard soundtrack (20 weeks in 1992 and 1993)...
Taylor uppträder inte på Grammys
Hey guys!
A lot of you have been asking about the Grammys this week and I just wanted to give you an update. I’m really excited to be nominated for 3 Grammys this year and even more excited that I’ll be there having a dance party/rage fest in the audience. I will also be presenting the award for Best New Artist. Since my whole life is wrapped up and entangled in the planning of The 1989 World Tour right now, I’m not going to be performing on the Grammys this year. I need this time to focus only on the tour.
I hope I’ll see you out there at one of the stadiums this summer having a rage fest of your own!
Love you.

Taylor varumärkesskyddar fraser från 1989
If you want to "Party Like It's 1989" to "This Sick Beat," you better ask Taylor Swift's permission first. The pop star has trademarked those phrases – along with "'Cause We Never Go Out of Style," "Could Show You Incredible Things" and "Nice to Meet You, Where You Been?" – with the U.S. government, according to the legal database Justia (via Vox).
The filings prohibit the use of those phrases, which all cull from her 2014 album 1989, from appearing without a license on everything from guitar straps and other accessories to removable tattoos. Some of the more obscure – and likely obligatory – items covered by her trademarks include typewriters, walking sticks, non-medicated toiletries, Christmas stockings, "knitting implements," pot holders, lanyards, aprons, whalebone, napkin holders and the particularly ominous collection of "whips, harness and saddlery."

Shake It Off utesluts från en av världen största topplistor
Taylor Swifts singel Shake it off får inte vara med på en av världens största topplistor. Anledningen: En manipulativ kampanj.
I dag måndag kom alltså dödsstöten för Shake it off: Den utesluts.
Huruvida den kolossalt framgångsrika Taylor Swift bekymrar sig om beskedet är under måndagen ännu oklart.

Tredje singeln från 1989 är...
Performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, hyped in a Tweet by Big Machine label boss Scott Borchetta, added by several major market pop radio stations and confirmed as a top 40 single on the Mediabase pop airplay chart, “Style” was very clearly positioned as the official follow-up to “Blank Space.”But just in case doubt did exist, the Republic Radio promotions team opted to formally confirm that “Style” is the next single.
The third official release from Swift’s blockbuster “1989,” “Style” is due to officially go for radio adds on February 10. Like its predecessor “Blank Space,” however, it will likely have been added by a plethora of stations prior to that impact date.
As of Monday, “Style” ranks at #38 on Mediabase’s rolling pop radio chart and #47 on the rolling hot adult contemporary chart. It seems destined to continue soaring and become another smash hit for the singer-songwriter.

1989 är årets bäst säljande album
It came down to the wire, but in the final week of 2014, Swift's 1989 finishes as the year's top selling album. After only nine weeks on sale, Swift's set stole the title away from Walt Disney Records' Frozen soundtrack in the very last tracking frame of the year.
1989 -- released through Big Machine Records -- sold 3.66 million copies in 2014, according to Nielsen Music, while the Frozen album shifted 3.53 million. (Nielsen's 2014 tracking year ran from Dec. 30, 2013 through Dec. 28, 2014.)
The Frozen soundtrack was the year-to-date top selling album of 2014 in every single tracking week of the year, except for the final frame (ending Dec. 28). In the week previous (Dec. 21), 1989's tally stood at 3.34 million, while Frozen was at 3.46 million. But, with one final week left on the calendar -- the most recent tracking week -- it seemed 1989 would overtake Frozen. And, it did.
In the week ending Dec. 28, 1989 sold 326,000 copies, while Frozen moved 64,000, thus easily securing Swift the year's top seller.
This is the second time Swift has earned the top selling album of a calendar year. She did it previously back in 2009 with her second studio album, Fearless, which moved 3.22 million that year.

Taylor utsedd till den mest givmilda kändisen 2014
This is one title Taylor Swift should be happy not to shake off. For the third year in a row, the "Blank Space" singer has been named DoSomething.org's most charitable celeb, topping a list of stars including Laverne Cox, Beyonce, and Emma Watson.
Swift, 25, has had a banner year, thanks to the release of her smash pop album 1989, which sold more than 1.2 million copies in its first week. As part of her promotion for the record, she released the single "Welcome to New York" and then donated all proceeds from the song to New York City Public Schools. In part because of that, users of DoSomething.org voted her the year's top celebrity do-gooder, an honor she's held since 2012. Coming in at No. 2 is Cox, who became a voice for the LGBT community after starring on Netflix's acclaimed series Orange Is the New Black. [...]

Taylor blir historisk med The Beatles
USA Today: Musician of the Year
Who: Taylor Swift, 25, musician
Why: With the deliberate embrace of a new city (New York) and a new sound (unapologetic pop), Swift conquered music mainstream this year.
If Taylor Swift wasn't the world's biggest pop star at the beginning of 2014, she certainly was by the end.
In 2014, she wrapped her $150-million The RED Tour with shows in Europe and Asia. In the summer, she had a few scene-stealing seconds in The Giver. She also moved from Nashville to New York, foreshadowing a musical shift that was in the works.
When she introduced her single Shake It Off — from the top of the Empire State Building, no less — she announced that her fifth album, 1989, would mark a full-fledged shift into the pop-music scene. But she had learned her lessons from her time in country music, staying in close touch with her fan base by poring over their Tumblr and Instagram accounts, often posting lengthy comments and even inviting a few of them to her homes to listen to the album early.
When she released her transformative 1989 album in October, she sold 1.29 million copies in the first week, outpacing any "expert" predictions and giving her the year's first million-selling release. When she released 1989's second single, Blank Space, she became the first woman to replace herself at the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 single chart. By the end of the year, the best-selling digital musical artist ever was outselling any other album released in 2014 by at least a factor of three.
Oh, yeah, and she just turned 25.
