Winning awards isn't everything...

As a recent awards shows have explained, winning isn’t everything. This can be showcased by the recent no gains by the extremely popular international superstar, Taylor Swift, at awards shows. For example, at the last two awards she has attended, she has gained no awards. This proves that awards are not everything. Taylor Swift is a talented young music artist who can mix genres and hold her place firmly worldwide on the music charts. For any music artist, personal recognition is more important than the music industry recognizing accomplishments. So, if Taylor has people personally saying she is an outstanding musician and an amazing person she has nothing to worry. This is confirmed by what fans sites say about her:

As these quotes show, awards are a great thing to have but are not necessary to be a successful music artist and have music that resonated with the general population. Awards show have become a bit like sports games with people supporting music artists, like opposing teams in sports. Taylor plays this game very well balancing out her awards shows with no-gains by scheduling other events that improve her reputation after or before awards shows and getting more praise! For instance, even though she gained no awards at the ACM Awards in 2010, in subsequent weeks she gained 4 more awards to add to her collection (NARM Artist of the Year, BMI Song of the Year, BMI Pop Award and the Hal David Starlight Award). Another example is a the recent CMT Awards in which she gained no awards to the dismay of her fans, she is going to have a 13 hour meet & greet along with an acoustic performance that day. Taylor has unknowingly predicted in her song ‘Change’: “Things will change and we’ll all sing hallelujah!” That will come true if Taylor puts out a successful EP this summer (as rumored to happen) and a successful album this fall (very likely, that it will be a major hit on the charts). Then everyone will sing hallelujah.

Music superstar TAYLOR SWIFT was announced today (6/10) as the first artist to join forces with Mix Me In2, the groundbreaking, creative, and fun music technology developed by Atlanta-based Fried Green Apps.
Executives from the company will be on hand Sunday 6/13 at Taylor Swift’s 13-hour Meet and Greet in Nashville to unveil Mix Me In2 Taylor Swift, a new iPhone App, powered by Mix Me In2’s patent-pending technology, which allows music lovers to literally go inside the music. Fans can use the app to create hundreds of different versions of their favorite songs.
They can remove or change instruments. They can even mix themselves into the music by replacing existing instruments and vocals with their own. It’s an exciting way to experience--and creatively re-imagine--music.
“I love playing music, and I love creating music,” Taylor said. “And, as somebody who is also a big music fan, I always love finding acoustic versions of my favorite songs. I think Mix Me In2 will be a great way for fans to have fun interacting with my music and to listen to new versions of my songs!”
In addition to the chart-topping original recording, each song in Mix Me In2 Taylor Swift comes with 5 heretofore never-released versions: rock, acoustic, urban, piano, and coffee house. All the music in Mix Me In2 Taylor Swift was approved and reviewed by Taylor Swift, her record label, and management team. The Mix Me In2 Taylor Swift app will cost $2.99 and comes with 2 of Taylor’s biggest hits, “Love Story” and “You Belong With Me.” Additional songs will cost $1.99 each.
“We are thrilled at the enthusiasm and support we have gotten from Taylor and her team throughout this process,” said Fried Green Apps CEO Bill Pike. “They have continually stressed how important it was to make this about the music and the fans’ enjoyment of it, which is exactly why we invented Mix Me In2.”
Fans can upload their versions of the songs to TaylorSwift.com and share them via Facebook and Twitter.
Though Taylor Swift is the first artist to release her original music through this groundbreaking app, Fried Green Apps is working with several other major record labels and artists. The company plans to release versions of the app for The Plain White T’s, Breaking Benjamin, and other major artists starting in the next few weeks.
“It’s more than an iPhone app,” said Grammy-winning producer Dallas Austin, a key player in the creation of Mix Me In. “It turns every music fan into a music producer.”

Taylor Swift’s "worst fear" is disappointing her parents.
The 20-year-old star has made a name for herself as a singer and actress, and is currently working on her new album. She says her mother and father have been instrumental in her success as they supported and encouraged her so much, something she is eternally grateful for.
"My parents have always been very respectful of me so I’ve always been really respectful of them," she explained to J14 magazine. "My worst fear is to let them down so that’s why I don’t misbehave."
Taylor has discussed her song writing process in the past, admitting she usually draws on her romantic relationships for inspiration. She has now explained writing about things that happen in her life is often the only way she can make sense of what she’s going through. She finds making lists of her feelings helps her cope, and then turns the notes into songs.
"When I finish a song, sometimes I think, ‘I must be the only person who has ever felt this way, right?’" she explained. "You can be afraid of a lot of things, but you jump anyway."

Since moving into a decked-out Nashville apartment, Taylor Swift has made some significant changes to her home's original floor plan.
"There are rooms where there weren't rooms before, and I have a birdcage in my living room that is people-sized," the country musician, 20, told PEOPLE at Tuesday's BMI Pop Awards in Los Angeles. "Then there's a pond in the living room as well, and I want to get stingrays. I don't want people to think I'm crazy, but wouldn't that be cool?"
Stingrays (which are tropical marine life related to sharks) or no, such an eccentric pad requires an equally eccentric nickname.
"My friends and I have been calling it things like 'The Imaginarium,' because it has all of these crazy whimsical things in it," she says.
Will this fanciful state of mind carry over into her future song writing? So far, she's not saying, but does admit that the songwriting process for her new record, "has been amazing. I've been writing for the last two years. I keep making new lists, which is a good sign to me."
The trick, it appears, is in the editing: "I bump things off when I write something new that I like better," says Swift. "It's really all about honing it down."

Taylor Swift is waiting until she finishes her current tour, which stops at Nassau Coliseum Friday night and Saturday, before wrapping up work on the follow-up to her "Fearless" album. But that doesn't mean she's put the other parts of the Taylor Swift empire on hold.
According to a recent poll by the marketing research firm ARSgroup, Swift, 20, is both well-liked and respected, with 50 percent of those surveyed saying they liked the singer-songwriter and 56 percent saying they would be likely to listen to her opinions on products.

When Lady A paid a visit to Country Countdown USA this past weekend, Taylor's name came up in conversation with Hillary admitting that she -- along with group members Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley -- took a little detour last year to see Taylor perform during one of her Fearless concerts. "We had a day off and rolled our bus up into the Fearless Tour and crashed it," said Hillary. "It was awesome to see her show. It's just incredible the connection she has with her fans, and the screaming is like nothing I've ever heard. We had fun. She's doing amazing things, and she's so sweet." Apparently the two performers hit it off because Hillary got to pay a visit to Taylor's newest acquisition -- her Nashville penthouse condominium. "We were all in Nashville at the same time a couple of weeks ago, and I was able to see the progress of Taylor's apartment that she's in the process of getting together," Hillary reported. Since Hillary just got a new place for herself, were the two comparing notes during the condo tour? "There is no comparing from what I saw!" Hillary laughed. "Hers is absolutely gorgeous! It was so neat to see just how specific [it was] to her and her personality and the things that she loves. I'm so proud for her. Her [condo] is absolutely beautiful. I hear that she is going to have freshwater stingrays in her house. I told her that I've seen stingray exhibits in aquariums and malls, and it doesn't exactly smell that fresh ... [I said] 'I don't want to burst your bubble!'" Hillary didn't give up too much information about Taylor's magnificent new digs, but noted, "It's just very her, that's the best way to describe it. Her lucky number is 13, and that's definitely got a presence there. It's beautiful. Sing me back home: A journey through country music!
NASHVILLE, Tenn., May 11, 2010 - Curators at the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum are nearing completion on additions to the Museum's permanent exhibition, Sing Me Back Home: A Journey Through Country Music. The most recent updates focus on contemporary artists including Jamey Johnson, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban. These changes, which bring the story of country music forward in time, will be completed on May 14, 2010.
The Sing Me Back Home transformation, which is taking place in the Museum's second floor gallery, includes new archival video clips and dozens of new artifacts. The most recent updates focus on country music in the new millennium and examine the contributions of contemporary country music stars.
Taylor Swift. Visitors will see Swift’s strapless Reem Acra gown, which features a gold-sequined bodice and softly flared tulle skirt. The superstar wore the ethereal confection at the 2009 Country Music Association Awards, where she collected four awards, including Entertainer of the Year. Also on display are her CMA EOTY trophy and her first Taylor guitar, a custom-made K-65-CE model twelve-string with Hawaiian Koa wood body and Swift’s name inlaid in mother-of-pearl on the fretboard. Swift is also featured in her own one-of-a-kind multimedia display elsewhere in the Sing Me Back Home narrative: Entitled Taylor Swift: I’m Only Me, the mini-exhibit focuses on Swift’s innovative use of social networking to communicate directly with her fans and features her own Apple ibook G4 laptop computer

Nashville Rising: A Benefit for Flood

Taylor Swift Surprised to Hear About How Surprised She Always Seems

Not long ago, we observed that if there's one thing Taylor Swift is better at than winning awards, it is acting surprised when they’re announced. She wasn’t honored at the Time 100 gala last night, but we'd like to believe Swift saved her best surprised expression for when we told her she should come up with new ways to look surprised.
“That's so funny!” she said, laughing heartily (and looking flabbergasted). “When I win awards, I’m surprised. You can’t go into awards just thinking you’re going to win, because then, regardless of what happens, you’d be disappointed, you know? Or, like, you know, I would rather just be excitable, and I can’t really help being excitable, because this is who I am.”
Seconds later, a woman came up and said she'd seen Swift play an event in Hawaii, and asked if she remembered? “Hawaii?! Of course I remember,” said Swift, delighted and seemingly surprised all over again. Then she gave the woman a big hug.

High School student bestulen på ritning av Taylor
Taylor Swift fans are under suspicion.
A student’s prize-winning, color-pencil drawing of the Grammy-winning country music star disappeared while on display at Fashion Square Mall in Saginaw Township Wednesday.
High School administrators believe it may have been the target of an art heist.
Freeland High School senior Justin Burns spent an estimated 30 hours on the project and won “best of show” of all of the submissions by his schoolmates, said Tamara S. Klida, 41, the school’s art teacher.
“It was a beautiful drawing using color pencils,” she said. “And it almost looked like a photograph if you step back a couple feet.”
Klida reported the theft to mall security.
“I don’t think it was random, because I don’t think anything else was stolen from the mall,” Klida said.
“I’m pretty it was someone who either loved Taylor Swift or really thought that drawing was something special, which it was. Amazing.”
The piece was on display as part of the 23rd Annual Saginaw County Art Exhibit, where it hung among hundreds of entries from schools throughout Saginaw County.
A reward poster now hangs in the empty slot where Taylor Swift’s likeness was displayed.
Burns’ art teacher is donating $50 of her own money, and Ruth Ann Knapp, 66, of Saginaw, a chairwoman for the event, said the piece may be returned to the mall security desk with “no questions asked.”
Anyone with information about the disappearance is asked to contact Tamara Klida at Freeland High School, 695-6586.
A similar theft occurred about 10 years ago at the art show, but “it is very rare,” Knapp said.
“He (Burns) really handled it rather well,” Klida said. “I think he was kind of shocked, but he didn’t freak out or anything. He was just really kind of surprised that someone would take it.”
Burns could not be reached for comment.
But Klida said Burns is a gifted artist who’s been offered scholarships to attend Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, though his college plans remain undetermined.
Burns, a National Honors Society member and soccer player, “didn’t even take his first art class until his junior year, last year, and it was pretty evident right away that he had phenomenal drawing abilities, whatever it was that he drew, and so he pursued it,” Klida said.

The 20-year-old country cutie will be the face of a yet-to-be-revealed product line, according to the company, via WWD.
Taylor shared about her own makeup likes, “I like a natural look in my everyday life, when I’m going to the grocery store or hanging out at my house in Nashville. When I go on stage, I get to play with my look…You get to play around with all these different characters, and I think that’s one of my favorite things about makeup - you can put on a new character.”
