"We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," the first single from Taylor Swift's fourth studio album "Red," due Oct. 22, appears headed for digital sales history. It, meanwhile, blasts onto multiple Billboard airplay charts following its first week of availability.
According to updated industry sources, the track, released late Monday, Aug. 13, will have moved more than 600,000 downloads by the end of the Nielsen SoundScan tracking week yesterday (Aug. 19). Considering that its opening-week sales projection has grown to at least 600,000, "Never" will likely earn the largest week ever for a song by a female artist - and the second-biggest week ever.
The largest week among all titles belongs to Flo Rida's "Right Round," which debuted with 636,000 the week of Feb. 28, 2009. The second-biggest week - and the largest currently by a woman - is held by Ke$ha's "TiK ToK," with 610,000 on Jan. 9, 2010 (reflecting the busy post-Christmas week of 2009).
With "Never" on course to blow past the 600,000 mark, it will also easily break the record for the largest debut by a woman. Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" currently holds the feat among female acts, having launched at No. 1 on Billboard's Digital Songs chart with 448,000, the week of Feb. 26, 2011.
NEVER' LANDS AT RADIO
On charts released this morning, "Never" roars onto multiple Nielsen BDS-based Billboard radio airplay charts.
The song, which Swift wrote with pop hitmakers Max Martin and Shellback launches on Country Songs at No. 13, Adult Contemporary (No. 16), Pop Songs (No. 18) and Adult Pop Songs (No. 21).
Big Machine and Universal Republic Records teamed with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment to help premiere "Never," as several of the chain's country, pop and adult stations gave it top-of-the-hour airplay upon its release late Monday (Aug. 13) through the following night (Aug. 14).

Ed Sheeran om duetten med Taylor
English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran played for 31 million viewers earlier this week when he sang Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" at the London Olympics Closing Ceremony, backed by Nick Mason and Mike Rutherford. "I'm never going to get to do something like that again in my life, so I just savored every moment of it," he tells Rolling Stone. Now, Sheeran is about to get even more exposure: he recently recorded a duet with Taylor Swift for her upcoming album Red, which hits stores on October 22nd.
Sheeran, 21, learned Swift was a fan after she wore lyrics from his song "Lego House" on her arms during her Speak Now tour. Soon, Swift's management visited one of Sheeran's gigs in Nashville. "Two days later, I got an email saying she had been a fan for awhile and ‘Should we write a song?' So we hooked up and wrote two tunes, actually, one on the record and another that's still out in the ether somewhere."
The writing session took place at Swift's home. "We wrote a song on a trampoline, ate some apple pie and had a jam. It was very fun," he says. "It came in 20 minutes, really. It was a really simple song to write. We just had two guitars and strummed it out. I've heard from everyone in the industry how cool she is; she's got a very good reputation, but you never really realize what kind of person she is until you sit down and chat with her. She's just a very warm soul."
WANEGBT slår rekord!
'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,' from Swift's forthcoming album, 'Red,' appears headed for the upper reaches of next week's Hot 100.Big Machine and Universal Republic have teamed with Clear Channel Media and Entertainment to help instantly ingrain "Never" among listeners, as the largest radio chain in the U.S. is spotlighting it with top-of-the-hour airplay on many stations until 11 p.m. tonight (14) among its 308 country, mainstream top 40, adult top 40, adult contemporary and rhythmic outlets.
(Clear Channel has similarly premiered new songs by Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw, Madonna and Rihanna with hourly airplay in recent months.)
With Billboard's Nielsen BDS-based genre airplay charts on a Monday-through-Sunday cycle, "Never" is off to a fast start at numerous formats as of this afternoon. On the building charts as of 4 p.m. ET today, the song ranked at No. 4 on Country Songs, No. 10 on Adult Contemporary, No. 16 on Pop Songs, No. 18 on Adult Pop Songs and No. 37 on Rhythmic.
As the end of Clear Channel's intense airplay of the song after tonight could level off its airplay throughout the week, a top 20 debut for "Never" on the Country chart seems more probable than a top five or top 10 start. (Highlights of Billboard's genre airplay charts will be released Monday (20) on Billboard.com.)
Both country and pop programmers are happy that, with "Never," Swift has gotten back together with radio. (Not that they've had that much time to miss her. "Ours" became her sixth Country No. 1 in March, while B.o.B's "Both of Us," featuring Swift, currently ranks at No. 32 on Mainstream Top 40, where she's placed 12 entries.)
"I like the record. I heard it a couple of weeks ago and, about 30 seconds in, thought it was a multi-format hit," CBS Radio Houston VP of programming Mark Adams says. (The company's Houston cluster includes country KILT and mainstream top 40 KKHH.)

Bekräftat: Taylor till iHeartRadio Music Festival
Taylor Swift, Aerosmith, Rihanna, Usher, Bon Jovi, Lil Wayne, Green Day, Miranda Lambert, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and others are set to take the stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival 2012 this fall in Las Vegas.
The stellar lineup suggests the two-day marketing blitz to promote Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio digital music service is on its way to repeating the success of last year’s debut concert.
Clear Channel, which also owns 850 terrestrial radio stations in the U.S., says Brad Paisley, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, No Doubt, Linkin Park, Jason Aldean, P!nk, deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia and Calvin Harris are also among the performers set for the festival on Sept. 21 and 22 at the MGM Grand. Ryan Seacrest will introduce the first night’s show.
“Last year’s iHeartRadio Music Festival had so many acts from so many different genres on one stage, a true rarity for a concert,” Seacrest told The Associated Press Monday. “This year it’s set to be bigger and better, with an unbelievable roster of some of the most talented names in the music business.”
Ed Sheeran pratar om Taylor
“I’ve never really met acts like her], ” he adds. “You meet people like Elton [John] who have been in the game for 30-40 years who are wise and old and been it for a long time — and Taylor’s been in it for six years and she’s 22. And you hear horror stories about younger musicians who kind of go a bit off the rails, but she’s so together and so kind of professional and knows what she wants, but at the same isn’t too harsh — she’s just a really sweet gentle person — so yeah, that’s what surprised me, is that she was sound.”

Taylor att gästa James Taylor konsert
Country-pop crossover singer-songwriter Taylor Swift will be the guest star during James Taylor's July 2 show at Tanglewood, sources confirmed to The Eagle on Monday.
Taylor first met Swift five years ago, before her breakout as a major performer, at a New York City benefit where they were both singing. She invited him to perform with her as a surprise guest last Nov. 22 at the final sold-out concert of her 2011 "Speak Out" world tour at Madison Square Garden.
According to the Wall Street Journal, "the duo's tranquil acoustic performance on a sofa had the vague air of an elderly father strumming guitar with his progeny, as Swift, 22, in a voluminous ball gown, and Mr. Taylor, 64, languidly crooned ‘Fire and Rain.' But teenagers in New York sang along fervently "
Swift, winner of multiple Grammys and other awards, has sold more than 22 million albums and 50 million song downloads worldwide in the past five years. According to Forbes Magazine, she earned $57 million so far this year, on top of $108 million in the 2009-11 period. She is working on her fourth album for release this fall.
Currently on a regional tour with his band, James Taylor is performing in Pittsburgh on Wednesday evening, followed by appearances in Syracuse, N.Y.; Holmdel, N.J.; Portland, Maine; Montreal, Quebec; and Manchester, N.H., before returning to Lenox for his three-night stint at Tanglewood July 2-4.
According to the Boston Symphony's website, tanglewood.org, some Shed seats, as well as lawn tickets, remain available for Taylor's three-night stand.

Honorary Star of Compassion Award går i år till Taylor
Officials at Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services have named the Love Story hitmaker the recipient of the 2012 Honorary Star of Compassion Award. The organisation's director Rob Adcock says, "Taylor Swift has inspired the small community of Northwest Tennessee with her uplifting words and music of encouragement and has become a positive role model for the young and old alike here. "It is with great honour and appreciation that we present this one of a kind, jewelled award to such an outstanding individual on behalf of our organisation." Swift, who moved to Tennessee as a teenager to pursue her career, often uses her fame to support the state's facilities - she donated 14,000 books to a library earlier this year (12), and last month (May12) it was revealed she had handed over £2.5 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
Mark Foster pratar om Taylor
"We actually wrote a song that day. It’s a really cool song. We kind of just went into it casually, like, ‘Yeah, let’s just jam, let’s just have fun and something really cool came out of it. We’ll see what happens with it. She’s been writing a lot for her next record, but yeah — it was a lot of fun working with her. She’s super talented." Mark Foster, lead singer of Foster the People, talking about working with Taylor Swift

Speak Now — Treasures From the World Tour
A new exhibition, Taylor Swift: Speak Now — Treasures From the World Tour, will open at the museum June 6 and run through Nov. 4, featuring costumes, instruments, props and set pieces from the country/pop superstar's 2011-2012 Speak Now world tour. The exhibit opens as country fans stream into downtown Nashville for the CMA Music Festival, which runs June 7-10.
Museum director Kyle Young says the Swift exhibition is potentially the first in a series of short-run exhibitions that the museum would open over summer months in years to come.
"Taylor is at the forefront of what's going on now in music, and we strive to be relevant," Young says. "This lends itself to a large exhibition, simply because of how elaborate the tour itself was."
Swift's new exhibit comes on the heels of the museum's May 17 announcement that she has pledged $4 million — the largest monetary donation by an artist in the museum's history — to fund a new 7,500-square-foot education center at the museum. The new Taylor Swift Education Center will serve five to six times its current number of guests, offering three classrooms and a state-of-the-art children's exhibit gallery spread over two floors.
Det har ännu inte släppts information om Taylor ens kommer närvara vid CMA Fest i år.

A Fallen War Hero's Love for Taylor Swift
Vilket hjärta Taylor har ♥
In response to a Marine’s request, artist Taylor Swift made a personal phone call and sent flowers to the family of Sgt. Wade Wilson. Wilson, a native of Leona passed away overseas during combat in Afghanistan on May 11, 2012.
Taylor Swift reportedly told the family that she wants to wear Sgt. Wilson’s dog tags in her next video to show her support for his military service. Swift is currently shooting a music video in California.
STORY FROM THURSDAY, MAY 17, 2012:
“I was with Wade his first deployment to Afghanistan,” said Corporal Josh Marreel, who is making sure his friend and fellow marine won’t be forgotten.
“A lot of guys are flying in and driving from pretty much anywhere. We’ve got guys from North Carolina driving over,” said Cpl. Marreel.
Marreel and others are using social media to spread the word about Sgt. Wilson’s death. While his friends were trying to come up with a good way to honor Wilson they remembered his love for a certain country music star.”
From Youtube video: “This is a shout out to the one and only Taylor Swift. I know you have no idea who I am but this video isn’t about me. This is about good buddy, Sgt. Wade D. Wilson, who was killed in action Friday, May 11, 2012 in Afghanistan. Anybody that knew Willy knew that he worshiped you. He even slept with a post of you in between our beds in Afghanistan.”
Marrell and other marines even made a video on Youtube inviting Taylor Swift to Sgt. Wilson’s funeral because he was such a huge fan of Swift.
“A big thing would be a video response or even just a letter to his parents saying you know how she supported what he did,” said Marreel.
Rest in peace
