Top Selling & Most-Played Artist 2010
For the second time in three years, Taylor Swift has been named Billboard & Neilsen SoundScan’s top-selling artist of the year, with over 4.4 million albums sold in 2010, according to sales figures released this week. Taylor was also SoundScan’s top-selling artist in 2008, and her Fearless album was 2009’s biggest-selling CD.
For the second consecutive year, Taylor is Billboard’s most-played artist, topping their annual all-genre Artist Airplay chart with more than 1.128 million airplay detections in 2010.
In addition, with over 34 million tracks sold to date, Taylor remains the top selling digital artist in music history, again holding the #1 position atop Billboard’s chart of Top Selling Digital Artists.
Taylor has sold more than 4 million albums each year for three consecutive years, and is the only artist to sell 4+ million albums each of the last three years.
This week, Taylor’s latest Big Machine Records release, Speak Now, spends its fifth week at #1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top 200 Albums chart. Speak Now was 2010’s best-selling internet album.

Speak Now - fortfarande nummer #1
With Christmas firmly in the rearview mirror, the Billboard 200 albums chart begins to approach normality again, as many holiday flavored sets tumble down the tally while contemporary titles rise up the list. On the chart reflecting the final Nielsen SoundScan tracking week of 2010, Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" holds at No. 1 for a fifth nonconscutive frame (77,000; down 72%). Last week's No. 2 album, Susan Boyle's Christmas-esque "The Gift," dives to No. 31 with 19,000 (down 92%). Its slide was expected, as most anything resembling a holiday album falls hard in the weeks after Dec. 25. (Half of the "The Gift's" track list is made up of Christmas tunes.)

Något som inte har med Billboard och göra är att hon har blivit nämnd som den tredje mest "Charitable Celebrity" enligt välgörenhetsorganisationen DoSomething och även på plats nummer 7 för "The 20 Best-Mannered People of 2010".
"Taylor Swift's Dream Prom Date"
When asked which celebrity she'd want to take to a prom, Taylor Swift names a few dream choices.
"It would be a group, and it would be a really fun group," the singer, 21, says on the Jan. 3 episode of the Rachael Ray show. "Because all these different reasons. Well, Katy Perry would be so much fun. She’s just like crazy fun and like spontaneous."
Swift continues, "Diddy has always been very nice to me. Justin Timberlake is the same way, he’s really funny. And, Sheryl Crow is really down to earth and really cool. And like, J. Lo would be a really good dancer!"
Noticeably absent from her list is one star she's been seen with recently: Jake Gyllenhaal.

3. Taylor Swift Sells Over 1 Million in a Week
They said it was impossible, but Taylor Swift shattered expectations in October by selling 1,047,000 copies of her third album, "Speak Now," in its first week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. With one brilliant stroke, the 21-year-old singer/songwriter became the first artist to crack a million since Lil Wayne did it with "The Carter III" in 2008, and further proved her dominance as the biggest country-to-mainstream crossover. What's more, she did it by taking a risk, writing the entire album on her own for the first time in her career. Can an artist ever achieve the milestone again? If anyone can do it, it's Swift.

Taylor är MTV's #3 Woman of the year!
Taylor Swift Is MTV News' #3 Woman Of The Year
Swift fell in and out of love through song, but we never stopped loving the superstar in 2010.
After a year as impressive as 2009, Taylor Swift followed suit in 2010. She toured the world, released a chart-topping album and even starred in her first feature film. Swift kicked off the year winning awards and ended it dominating the charts, and in between, she never looked back.
Swift proved that she was more than just a crossover coincidence thanks to catchy songs and girl-next-door charm that appeals to the masses. She managed to scoop up awards and be surprised by each win. The other shoe isn't going to drop anytime soon, and 2010 proved that.
2010 Highlights: In January, Taylor took home her first People's Choice Award and covered Better Than Ezra's "Breathless" at the "Hope for Haiti Now" telethon. She also broke Britney Spears' record for first-week download sales by a female artist thanks to her tune "Today Was a Fairytale."
But it was February that would truly leave her breathless. At the Grammys in February, Swift took home four trophies, including Album of the Year. She also hit the stage with Stevie Nicks at the awards show. Weeks later, she would rule the box office alongside former beau Taylor Lautner in "Valentine's Day."
Grattis Taylor - 21 år!
Tack för att du har gjort mig Fearless. Tack för att du får mig att Speak Now.

Speak Now målning av Peter Max
Nu har Max målat av Speak Now omslaget och den är precis lika vacker som hans tidigare verk av Fearless!
Taylor Swift is receiving the ultimate (and colorful!) early birthday gift from iconic artist Peter Max.
The pop artist has painted a vibrant portrait of Swift's Speak Now album cover. And it's not the first time the Grammy winner, who turns 21 Monday, has been Max's muse: He painted four versions of her Fearless album cover earlier this year, which he gave to her as a gift. (One version of the painting is now hanging in Swift's Nashville apartment.)
The portraits commemorate another milestone for Swift.
Max's inspiration, Speak Now, was just certified triple-platinum earlier this week by the Recording Industry Association of America.
"I've been doing portraits of iconic musicians for so many years," Max, who has also painted for six presidents, says. "She is one of the most beautiful and talented stars we have today."
Det står även att man kommer kunna köpa målningen i hennes webbutik på söndag, så förhoppningsvis är det sant! Tänk att ha en sådan tavla på väggen?! :)

Intervju med CMT Insider
With sales already in the vicinity of 2 million copies, Taylor Swift's Speak Now has fulfilled its promise as one of the best-selling albums of 2010, an especially remarkable accomplishment considering it was only released in late October.
Prior to the media attention she's been receiving lately about her relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, Swift talked to CMT Insider host Katie Cook about her new songs, how she plans to celebrate her 21st birthday on Dec. 13 and the "incredible adventure" her career is providing.
CMT: Obviously you've matured a lot in the last couple years. Do you feel like that's reflected on Speak Now?
Swift: I hope so. I think, for me, musical evolution as well as growing up should be something that happens naturally. I've never felt the need to have some proclamation that I'm now an adult or anything like that. You know, I guess you're technically an adult when you're 18, but I was looking around going, "When's it gonna happen?" I think that growing up has to happen at your own pace, and maturing happens through a series of realizations and lessons and life happening to you and you dealing with it.
A lot of your fans are still teenagers, some of them even preteens, so do you ever think, "I hope they can still relate to what I'm writing about"?
When I'm in a room by myself writing a song, which is the scenario that happened for each of the songs on this album because there weren't any co-writers, it's not about factoring in millions of people who could possibly hear that song some day, because that would be a very crowded room. But in my head and in that room, I try to kind of conjure up the idea of the person who I'm writing that song about. I'm writing that song to them. That's how I've always written music. I used to worry that would be too personal, that by writing songs directly to someone who's in or out of my life, other people wouldn't be able to relate to it. But then I put the music out into the world and it somehow worked out that they were able to relate it to their lives, too.
As you said, you wrote all the songs on this album by yourself. Was that a conscious decision?
That was another natural progression, which is what I love about this album. A lot of it just sort of happened. There was a flow that just kind of happened. I would get inspired to write songs at the most inconvenient times, 3 in the morning or in the middle of a meet-and-greet or in the middle of a conversation with my friends, and I'd just drift off. And they're like, "Oh, you're working again, aren't you?"
