The celebrity wrestle that shocked the world took place on 14 September 2009. Well, it raised a few eyebrows, at least. In the bling corner: the hip-hop "visionary", fashion-plate and all-round go-monster, Kanye West. In the gingham corner, the teen-queen of pop-country music, Taylor Swift. At the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) in New York, Swift had taken to the stage to accept the award for Best Female Video. She had sold 13 million copies of her self-titled 2006 debut album and 2008's follow-up, Fearless, had made Swift the youngest winner of the Grammy award for Album of the Year. Here was a wholesome heroine to America's adolescent girls, well on her way to becoming the biggest-selling digital artist in history.
But West, self-appointed oracle of all that is really dope, wasn't happy. As a wide-eyed and thrilled Swift attempted to give her thanks, West grabbed a microphone and told the assembled luminaries and viewing millions that Beyoncé was more deserving of the award.
Swift – tall, blonde, peachy-clean and gowned like a teenager at her first posh do – gaped. The crowd booed. Sitting down the front, Beyoncé looked mortified. West strode off into another notorious night. Job done.
Revenge, thinks Taylor Swift, is a dish best served acoustically, with some pointed lyrics. Last month she took to the stage in LA to perform at this year's VMAs. The singer, who secured her first publishing deal for her songwriting aged only 14, played a new, as-yet-unreleased song from her upcoming third album Speak Now. "I guess you really did it this time," she cooed as she sat on a stool with her acoustic guitar. "Lost your balance on a tightrope/ Lost your mind tryin' to get it back/ Wasn't it easier in your lunchbox days? Always a bigger bed to crawl into... and everybody believed in you..."

Sneak Peak av Taylors vaxfigur!
Taylor Swift is already a world-famous celebrity, and now she will be among the famous figures immortalized in the internationally-renowned wax museum, Madame Tussauds New York. Known for housing life-like replicas of today's biggest celebrities, the museum is celebrating a decade in the Big Apple.
"What better way to keep our ten-year anniversary celebration going than to unveil a figure of one of today's biggest superstars -- Taylor Swift," says Janine DiGioacchino, Divisional Director of Midway Attractions. "Taylor's amazing accomplishments as an artist, along with her generous spirit and sparkling personality, make her a wonderful new addition to the Madame Tussauds New York family. We are so excited to give her fans and our visitors a mini-preview of the completed figure before its big debut next week."
Taylor will be adorned in a black and silver dress, made by designer Jenny Packham and personally donated by Taylor. Her statue will be unveiled on October 27, two days after her 'Speak Now' release date. Check out a sneak peek of Taylor's waxed twin below, sent to The Boot by Madame Tussauds. You can see the sparkly Packham dress, though not the statue's face just yet.

For all of her pop success, Swift has continued to show commitment to the country genre. When she bought her first condominium in 2009, she not only chose to stay in Nashville, she picked a home that's less than one mile from Music Row. She invariably recognizes her country roots in awards acceptance speeches and participates routinely in the CMA Music Festival in meaningful ways. In 2009, she signed autographs for 13 hours.
"The music may sound [pop], but she has not run away from [country]," Shomby says. "It just happens that she's crossed over and become an icon in that area, too."
Swift is in no hurry to redesign her career path in other ways, either. She made her first forays into acting during the last two years, appearing on an episode of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," earning positive reviews for her monologue and skits as a guest host on "Saturday Night Live" and making her movie debut in "Valentine's Day." Those experiences were appealing, but not enough to knock her off her current course.
"At the moment, I've just made space for putting out an album and then touring the world," she says. "Maybe in a couple years acting would be a great thing to do, but there aren't going to be any concert dates moved around for acting in the [near] future."
What that tour looks like is yet unknown, though Swift has mapped out many of the production elements for her 2011 schedule.
"I already have drawings in my journal of what the stage should look like." she says. "I know a few of the set list orders, [and] I want there to be an entire wedding scene on the stage."

Taylor sätter nytt rekord
Making a splash into the top 10 is Taylor Swift, who opens at No. 8 with "Speak Now," the title track from her upcoming Oct. 25 album release. Swift's arrival gives her the mark for most top 10 debuts in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, as "Speak Now" is her sixth title to enter the chart's top tier. That total surpasses the five top 10 entries earned by Mariah Carey from 1995-98. Swift's first top 10 debut was with "Change," in August 2008.
"Speak Now" shifts 217,000 to open at No. 2 on Hot Digital Songs, down from the 325,000 moved for lead-off radio track, "Mine," in August. The iTunes digital countdown to "Speak Now" will result in two more tracks impacting the chart the next two weeks, with "Back to December" on deck.
Grattis Tay!

Intervju med Ladies Home Journal
En sjukt gullig intervju har dykt upp på CMIL där Taylor blir intervjuad av Ladies Home Journal. Värd att läsa!
In anticipation of her new album, Ladies Home Journal caught up with Taylor Swift to get her answers to
some interesting and fun questions. Read below for their interview with Taylor…
Why I Called My Album Speak Now…
My songs are like open letters. They say everything I wished I had said when certain people were standing right in front of me. I imagine I will be getting a few text messages from them once the album comes out.
My album in three words…
Diverse. Detailed. Relationship-y. I’m turning relationship into an adjective.
My Writing Process…
I have an app on my iPhone that’s a voice recorder. I’ll be in the middle of a conversation and will literally walk away and record a bridge, a pre-chorus or half of a hook, then go right back to the conversation like nothing happened.
Who I’d Most Like To Collaborate With…
Jay-Z. I know our genres are completely different, but there could be something cool about that.
Now That I Have My Own Place…
I’m most excited about throwing dinner parties and cooking for people. The other night I made this dish with chicken, penne and capers that I am so proud of.
What I Took From My Parents’ House…
Little teacups, a Geisha doll and a crystal ball that looks like a fortuneteller’s. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve wanted that crystal ball — so my mom gave it to me and I let her keep one of my Grammys.
My Signature Dish…
Caramelized bacon. My Mom and I both make it. It’s really easy to do, but people seem to be wonderstruck by it.
My Favorite Hobby…
Antiquing. At the Tennessee State Fair Grounds, I found a hog carrier that I now use as a table for my record player. And I found a long animal trough that I use to store blankets.
Why I Love Nashville…
When I’d first visit, I was mystified that people talk to you in public, make eye contact on the street and smile at you and wave. Now, I’m addicted to that. I’ve never felt so completely like a town was home as I do here.
What I’ll Do For Beauty…
I really like eyeliner. One time I was waking up on a plane, it had been a long flight and I didn’t have eyeliner — so I used a Sharpie. I file that under my road warrior adventures.
My Make-Up Must-Haves…
CoverGirl has these outlast lip stains that I really like — I have about five in my purse. I’m always throwing my hair around on stage and if I wear sticky lip gloss, my hair gets stuck on my lips — which is a total mess.
How I’ll Celebrate My 21st Birthday…
Maybe I’ll have a glass of wine — but nothing too hardcore for me. I’ve never had the burning desire to drink. I need to be in control of what I say, and if I drank, I’d stress out about saying the wrong thing at the wrong time.
Growing Up On A Christmas Tree Farm…
My Dad always liked to let me think that I was helping. So, when I was 6 he gave me the job of picking the praying mantis pods off of the Christmas trees so that they wouldn’t hatch in people’s houses. I loved it!
On My Life List…
Seeing my album in Starbucks. I really love Starbucks. I go there every day and I just stare longingly at the CDs they sell. I'm so envious.
What I Look For In A Guy…
Someone who loves you for who you are. I like doing cute art projects with glitter, and there have been guys who’ve made me feel like that’s weird. But then there are guys who find it endearing.
Favorite Thanksgiving Tradition…
Eating the marshmallows in the candied yams.
My Hollywood Crush…
Taylor Lautner. It’s always going to be Taylor.
Pratar om Inncent med MTV
Taylor Swift has revealed that it was 'important' for her to write a song to Kanye West.
The rapper, who infamously interrupted Taylor's acceptance speech at last years VMAs, inspired Swift to pen the track, Innocent, about his outburst.
The Love Story singer told our US Team: "I think a lot of people expected me to write a song about [West]. But, for me, it was important to write a song to him."
Swift, who performed her ode to Kanye at this year's VMAs, added that she wasn't interested in pity after the incident: "It doesn't really add anything good if I start victimizing myself and complaining about things."
"Because I'm proud of that performance at the VMAs last year, where my fans helped me get through it. And there was a lot that went down backstage that I will always be thankful for, and the fans in the subway know exactly what happened that night."
She added: "I feel everything. I've never had this thick skin that can't be... It's not like I am bulletproof in any sense of the word."
Lite nyheter om världsturnén 2011
Queen of country music, TAYLOR SWIFT, is in the planning stages of a new tour. Swift says, "It's not like anything I have ever done before! I'm so excited to see the wonderful faces of my fans again! " . Swift also dished that the tour will be a completely new element to her live preformances. It will have a more raw feel but still have the fun, theatrical element.
Her tour kicks off mid-February in Japan, then heads to the UK, here in the US, and Australia. When asked about traveling to Latin-America she said that is still being worked out.
Swift's managment says to be prepared for a tour annoucement within the month of October. Tickets will go onsale in November and December.
Swift's new ablum is due out October 25, 2010.

Last year, Duncan met Taylor in one of LAX's airport lounges. He started talking to Taylor's mom. "She happens to be probably the nicest person I've ever met," Duncan tells J-14. After telling Taylor's mom all about The Buried Life project, he then started chatting with Taylor -- but he didn't ask her out.
So Duncan decided to ask Taylor on a date -- at this year's CMT Awards! "We found out that she was performing at the CMTs, and one thing we are pretty good at is getting into award shows uninvited," Duncan admits.
In the episode, which aired last night, Duncan goes up to Taylor on stage, asks her out, hands her a note with his phone number on it, and tells her to reply to him later. Two days later, Taylor said yes! At first, Duncan didn't recognize the number, but he tells J-14 that he is friends with Taylor's BFF Abigail, and she confirmed that it was Taylor's number. "Then I obviously started talking to her more, and I've been talking to her since," Duncan tells us. "We haven't gone out on a date yet, but we hung out after the VMAs with some friends. We're just chatting [right now]. We're both super busy. We're still editing the show, and she's obviously one of the busier people on the planet."
So has Duncan figured out what they'll do on their big date? "I haven't thought about it too much," he admits.
