Q: What attracted you to The Giver?A: I read scripts all the time, and I have only been in very tiny parts in one or two movies because I was always waiting for the right thing to come along to fully commit. When I read The Giver-first of all, I remembered reading the book, and I remember it deeply affecting me in school. But picturing the characters played by Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep, and these incredible actors who had already signed on to the project, it was absolutely an honor to be approached to play Rosemary.

Sheeran did what any best friend of Taylor Swift — who’s featured in the new MTV documentary “9 Days and Nights of Ed Sheeran” — would do upon receiving such a sweet souvenir of bestie-dom: He promptly framed and hung the thoughtful handicraft, which also features the popular Internet first-world idiom “the struggle is real,” on his wall. He shows it off in the can’t-miss doc about his charmed and surreal life.

While pop superstar Taylor Swift might make headlines for her part in the upcoming movie adaptation of “The Giver,” producers want to manage everyone’s expectations: She actually has a very small role in the film.
“It always makes us laugh when people announce ‘Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep — and Taylor Swift,’” joked producer Nikki Silver, at the Library of Congress on Monday. Silver was on stage with “The Giver” author Lois Lowry to promote the film adaptation of the best-selling dystopian young adult novel, which will hit theaters on Aug. 15.
Given that Swift has worldwide name recognition, it’s no surprise she gets third billing next to the A-list actors. Sure enough, in the crowd during the event on Monday (mostly made up of class field trips), the room started audibly buzzing when Lowry suddenly told Silver, “Talk about Taylor Swift.”
So, Silver told everyone the story about how Swift was cast for the part of Rosemary. In the book, Rosemary plays the former “receiver of memory,” the job of the book’s main character, Jonas. Rosemary appears only in flashbacks, and for a few very brief scenes.

While you scramble to work on that beach bod, make sure your DVR is in top shape too because MTV announced its summer schedule on Thursday (April 24) and it is seriously ripped.
In addition to new shows “Finding Carter” and “Snack-Off” and the return of “Teen Wolf” and “Ridiculousness,” one of the new series announced was the documentary “9 Days and Nights.” The subject of the first 60-minute episode in June is Ed Sheeran, with special appearances from pal Taylor Swift and producer Pharrell Williams. The show is slated to debut on June 10 at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

While the news hasn't broken yet, the source revealed that shooting began taking place today (Friday, April 11). While it is not yet known what exactly will be featured on the MTV special, it will most likely include information about the famous pair's relationship and singing careers.
