Taylor Swift performs her first-ever headlining stadium concert at LSU

As unlikely as it seems, Taylor Swift had never headlined a concert at a football stadium until tonight, when she performed a LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The twenty year old country pop singer has been a sales chart phenomenon over the past couple of years but had previously been limited to arenas. Tiger Stadium has an official football game capacity of 92,400 people; that number could be higher could be higher or lower for a concert depending on field capacity and the number of obstructed view seats not made available. For her part, Swift remarked that before the show, she and her bandmates “could be found taking pictures on the stage like tourists.” She went on to sum it up with “It was just.. Wow.”

Taylor Swift is in the midst of an extended U.S. tour which will next see her in Washington, DC on June 1st and 2nd for a pair shows at the Verizon Center (perhaps ironic, as Swift herself is known to be an iPhone user and therefore AT&T customer), ahead of another stadium show in Foxboro, Massachusetts at Gilette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots. She’s also doing a charity gig in her hometown Nashville, Tennessee, on June 22nd in aid of flooding victims, a cause to which she’s already donated half a million dollars.

How she treats other people. And whether she seems happy. I'm always intrigued and interested by people who seem to be at peace with themselves.

I haven't yet, but I would sing "I Want to Know What Love Is" by Foreigner. It's just so over-the-top and so cheese, but its rad at the same time.

She still falls in that category. She's just a passionate person, and she's everything that I was talking about here.

A GOOD HAIR DAY Taylor Swift is always "Best Tressed" — and she does it herself!



Taylor Swift may be a superstar, but in many ways the 20-year-old singer is just a down home girl. Before her performance at Toyota Center Tuesday night, Pedro Abasolo of Ovations Hair Salon was called in to do the hair and makeup for Swift's band. But Abasolo,who has coiffed Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, Laura Bush, and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright in Houston appearances, couldn't get his hands on Swift's golden locks.

Even though the singer was being filmed during her concert for a possible movie, Swift did her own hair and makeup  — as she has on every stop on her tour.

As usual, Swift looked "Best Tressed." It's comforting to know that if this singing gig doesn't pan out, she'll have something else to fall back on.

Taylor Swift is waiting until she finishes her current tour, which stops at Nassau Coliseum Friday night and Saturday, before wrapping up work on the follow-up to her "Fearless" album. But that doesn't mean she's put the other parts of the Taylor Swift empire on hold.

According to a recent poll by the marketing research firm ARSgroup, Swift, 20, is both well-liked and respected, with 50 percent of those surveyed saying they liked the singer-songwriter and 56 percent saying they would be likely to listen to her opinions on products.

It's no wonder the Grammy winner has developed partnerships in many different sectors outside of music. While she works on new music, here are five other Taylor-related products she is offering:

2. SONY ELECTRONICS She's helping launch the company's Cyber-shot TX7 camera with a new campaign, including a new TV ad. "My fans are on the cutting edge, and I'm very interested in the newest and best technologies out there," Swift said.

3 'VALENTINE'S DAY' Swift's acting debut comes out on DVD Tuesday, including the video for her single "Today Was a Fairytale."

4. AMERICAN GREETINGS She has a line of greeting cards called the Taylor Swift Collection, available online and in stores, featuring her music, pictures and quotes.

Taylor Swift Will Receive Hal David Starlight Award for Songwriting

Taylor Swift will receive the Hal David Starlight Award, presented to contemporary young songwriters by the Songwriters Hall of Fame, on June 17 in New York City. The award will be presented during the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony. "Taylor Swift is one of the brightest musical talents to emerge in recent years and represents the true epitome of the Starlight Award," said David, the organization's chairman and CEO. "She possesses an undeniable talent as a songwriter, expressive singer and performer, and we are proud to present her with this well-deserved honor."

The young Hollywood star and starlet were snapped cozying up at a recent event and Cory admits that "it's cute." Ellen pries further, plugging, "You'd be a cute couple."

Taylor kommer att uppträda Nashville Rising: A Benefit for Flood, en konsert för katastrofen som hänt i Tennesse. In response to last week’s devastating Tennessee floods, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have assembled a jaw-dropping lineup of talent for a June 22 benefit concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, one of the downtown venues that took in water when the Cumberland River overflowed its bank.

“Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert For Flood Recovery” will also feature Brooks & Dunn, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Jason Aldean, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, LeAnn Rimes, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Martina McBride. Even more acts are expected to be announced at a future date.

“The damage that we’ve seen to people’s homes and the effect that the flooding has had on their lives is unimaginable,” Tim and Faith said in a joint statement. “But we’ve seen the spirit of our community first hand, as volunteers, church groups and our local business leaders rally to help. We all need to continue to support those in need in any way that we can, and for that reason we could not be more appreciative to all of the artists, the companies and the people behind the scenes who collectively will make June 22 a truly special night.”

Not long ago, we observed that if there's one thing Taylor Swift is better at than winning awards, it is acting surprised when they’re announced. She wasn’t honored at the Time 100 gala last night, but we'd like to believe Swift saved her best surprised expression for when we told her she should come up with new ways to look surprised.

“That's so funny!” she said, laughing heartily (and looking flabbergasted). “When I win awards, I’m surprised. You can’t go into awards just thinking you’re going to win, because then, regardless of what happens, you’d be disappointed, you know? Or, like, you know, I would rather just be excitable, and I can’t really help being excitable, because this is who I am.”

Seconds later, a woman came up and said she'd seen Swift play an event in Hawaii, and asked if she remembered? “Hawaii?! Of course I remember,” said Swift, delighted and seemingly surprised all over again. Then she gave the woman a big hug.

På Cover Girl's officiella hemsida har de 'välkomnat' Taylor som den nya Cover Girl! De har lagt upp en ny sida på deras facebooksida där man kan kommentera om vad man tycker om henne som den nya Cover Girl.

Ni kanske har hört talas om stormen som har drabbats bland annat Tennesse, där Nashville ligger (Tay's hemstad) och nu är stora delar under vatten.



Just because Taylor Swift was at last night's Met Costume Institute Gala in New York City that doesn't mean she wasn't thinking about the flooding that's devastated her hometown.

"Right now Nashville is under water," Swift told E! News on her way into the fashion fete. "We had the worst storm in 35 years, so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. A lot of people back home are not doing well."

Taylor Swift has said she’d like a part in hit TV musical comedy Glee.

The country singer- who won four Grammy Awards on Sunday- revealed she’s a big fan of the show. She said: “I'm really loving Glee right now,” before commenting on a possible cameo “If it did happen, I'd love to see what they would do with me.”

The country cutie just landed a cosmetic deal to be their new celebrity endorser, and soon you will see her fresh face on television, print and in-store advertising.

General manager for Cover Girl, Vince Hudson, spoke of Swifty saying:

"Taylor is beautiful, inspiration with an effortless-chic style, making her the perfect person to represent a new, luxurious collection of products debuting on Cover Girl next year."

Taylor is really excited about being the new model as she has said that she's a self-professed "make-up junkie." When describing her look, she says,

“I like a natural look in my everyday life, when I’m going to the grocery store or hanging out at my house in Nashville. When I go onstage, I get to play with my look. So you get to play around with all these different characters, and I think that’s one of my favorite things about makeup - you can put on a new character."

Get it, gurl! We think you're the perfect new Cover Girl!

Freeland High School senior Justin Burns spent an estimated 30 hours on the project and won “best of show” of all of the submissions by his schoolmates, said Tamara S. Klida, 41, the school’s art teacher.

“It was a beautiful drawing using color pencils,” she said. “And it almost looked like a photograph if you step back a couple feet.”

Klida reported the theft to mall security.

“I don’t think it was random, because I don’t think anything else was stolen from the mall,” Klida said.

“I’m pretty it was someone who either loved Taylor Swift or really thought that drawing was something special, which it was. Amazing.”

The piece was on display as part of the 23rd Annual Saginaw County Art Exhibit, where it hung among hundreds of entries from schools throughout Saginaw County.

A reward poster now hangs in the empty slot where Taylor Swift’s likeness was displayed.

Burns’ art teacher is donating $50 of her own money, and Ruth Ann Knapp, 66, of Saginaw, a chairwoman for the event, said the piece may be returned to the mall security desk with “no questions asked.”

Anyone with information about the disappearance is asked to contact Tamara Klida at Freeland High School, 695-6586.

A similar theft occurred about 10 years ago at the art show, but “it is very rare,” Knapp said.

“He (Burns) really handled it rather well,” Klida said. “I think he was kind of shocked, but he didn’t freak out or anything. He was just really kind of surprised that someone would take it.”

Burns could not be reached for comment.

But Klida said Burns is a gifted artist who’s been offered scholarships to attend Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, though his college plans remain undetermined.

Burns, a National Honors Society member and soccer player, “didn’t even take his first art class until his junior year, last year, and it was pretty evident right away that he had phenomenal drawing abilities, whatever it was that he drew, and so he pursued it,” Klida said.
