Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran will perform together on the Britain’s Got Talent 2013 final next weekend.

 

The pair are set to sing Everything Has Changed, the new single for American country star Taylor here in the UK.

 

The live final is on Saturday 8th June, when it will be revealed which act viewers have picked to win a life changing £250,000 and a spot at this year’s Royal Variety Performance.

 

There will be eleven acts who make it to the last live show, two from every live semi-final and one extra wild-card act, expected to be chosen from the semi-final’s third placed finishers.

 

And it’ll be the public alone who decide the outcome, not that the judges have exactly been good at doing that so far anyway, sending two of the three semi-final decisions to deadlock.

Exclusive First Look: Taylor Swift’s Newest Perfume

 

Between the world tours, Keds partnership, awards show sweeps and Instagramming her cat, we don’t know how Taylor Swift finds time to come out with new fragrances.

 

And yet, she does. The singer follows up herWonderstruck and Wonderstruck Enchanted scents with Taylor by Taylor Swift, a scent which Swift calls “a mix of a lot of things: It’s sweet, it’s sophisticated, it draws you in. It’s really my way of translating classic, yet modern, into a perfume.”

 

Swift says that each of her fragrances has reflected a time in her life, so this one is a little more grown up. “My first two fragrances were more about fairytales,” she says, “but this fragrance is more about my own style, so I wanted the name to be more personal.”

The bottle was designed to reflect Swift’s “retro with a modern flair” style and features a ring of pearls as a nod to her favorite jewelry. “Pearls are the one fashion accessory that never seems to go out of style,” the singer shares. “I keep a strand in my purse, and throw them on whenever I need to dress up my outfit.”

 

Ultimately, Swift says, she wants her fans to be able to channel her style wherever they go, with the help of the perfume’s mix of fruits, florals and woodsy scents. “I hope that wearing this fragrance makes fans feel that any look can be classic and chic,” she says.

Taylor by Taylor Swift will be available in Ulta stores and Ulta.com in late June. 

There were also artists on hand who are part of the new wave of younger performers taking hold at radio -- Selena Gomez performed, and Ariana Grande presented. What advice would you give them?

I never give advice unless someone asks me for it. One thing I've learned, and possibly the only advice I have to give, is to not be that person giving out unsolicited advice based on your own personal experience. I've always had a lot of older people giving me advice because I'm young, and in the end, it all comes down to who you want to be remembered as. Just be that.

 

How did you celebrate your victorious night?

We had a giant dinner at Nobu for all of my bandmates, dancers and friends. It seemed like everyone was there. Ed, Selena, Austin Mahone . . . We were all just laughing together and rejoicing in a really fun evening.

 

How late were you out? Where did you go and who did you hang with?

I flew back to L.A. that night, so I was only out till about 1 a.m. Then I got home, said "hi" to my cat, then fell asleep in seconds.

 

You gave a heartfelt thank-you to your fans and acknowledged them as being "the longest and best relationship I've had." How would you describe that relationship? And how did it feel to have the opportunity to thank them publicly as you accepted artist of the year?

I loved being able to thank my fans for this life they've given me. Being on tour, I get a nightly reminder of how lucky I am to get to stand on giant stages and sing for sold-out crowds. Now I have so many girls my age coming up to me and saying, "I've listened to you for seven years." It's crazy to me that we've been in each other's lives that long and it still feels new. But hey, I guess that's what real love feels like.

She wrote ‘Thank you so much for being on my tour’ and she drew on the card and all sorts of stuff, it was very personal.

 

She’s very sweet like that, though. From the very first night we walked on the stage, before I even walked on, she came out and gave me a hug and said, ‘Thank you.’ And I was like, ‘Are you kidding me? This is such a great opportunity — thank YOU.’ She’s one of the most real artists I’ve ever met, and to be perhaps the biggest artist in the world, I mean…

Taylor Swift says there’s nothing like having a good time with Selena Gomez.

 

“It’s so much fun especially when she’s there,” the “22” singer said of spending last night at the Billboard Music Awards with her bestie. “It turns into sort of a dance party situation and we don’t like to think of these things as pressure, like ‘Oh, my God, everybody’s watching, how do you act?’ We just act like we do in our kitchen.

 

“It was a blast,” Swift continues. “It’s always so much fun when she’s a part of the whole scenario.”

 

Also by Swift’s side last night was her English singing buddy, Ed Sheeran.

 

“She likes cooking and I like eating, so it works out,” Sheeran said of touring with Ms. Swift.

 

Any favorite dishes? “Stir fry,” Sheeran said. “That was good. She gets her wok on.”

 

Swift said, “I cook for my friends all the time, and I’m really glad I got like a four-star culinary review there. That’s excellent!”

 

We could only imagine what Swift will be whipping up at her new $17 million estate in Rhode Island.

 

“She must have a housewarming at some point,” Sheeran said. “I’m going to make a wooden sign and bring it there and stick it on a door and claim a room.”

 

With seven bedrooms in the 11,000-square-foot mansion, he should have no problem finding some space.

Looking back on the past year, what was the highlight for you?

Taylor Swift: For me, the highlight of this year was that fans went out and bought more than a million copies of "Red" in its first week of release. That was such an unbelievable feeling, knowing that many people wanted to hear about the last two years of my life. When I put out an album, it’s like me releasing my version of events, the way I felt at my highest and lowest points. Sharing that with the world is a vulnerable position to put yourself in, and having it be so celebrated by my fans was almost an indescribable feeling of joy and relief and "Oh, good, they understand me."

 

What song really made an impact on you this year?

I’m obsessed with "Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line. It’s the catchiest thing I’ve heard in years, and I love the Nelly version too. They’re out on tour with us right now, so I get to hear it all the time. I’m also absolutely smitten with “I Love It” by Icona Pop. It’s the way reckless abandon sounds in my head. I play it right before I go onstage.

 

What new talent emerged or came into his or her own this year that blew you away?

Tegan & Sara have been around for years and I’ve always loved them, but I feel like they really stretched sonically on this new album, "Heartthrob." I was just so impressed by it, and there isn’t a song on it I don’t love. So I guess, in my mind, I categorize them as the new Tegan & Sara. To see artists evolve like that is so inspiring.

 

What to you was one of the biggest losses this year in music?

I think losing George Jones deeply saddened everyone in Nashville. His influence on country music and his legacy will last forever. On top of all of that, he was a very sweet man and I'm so sorry we've lost him. George Jones never stopped wanting to be onstage. He played live shows until the day he died, and that passion for performing is something I look up to.

 

What was your favorite music-related meme or viral video this year?

I like the app where you can make your own memes. I make memes all the time and send them to my friends. I also love basically any cat-related YouTube video. Yes, I’m that girl. And I thought the goat video for “I Knew You Were Trouble” was brilliant—I showed it to everyone on my tour.

 

Was there a surprising sound or music trend that pricked up your ears?

I love that ballads became huge hits this year and that unexpected songs and artists got lots of airplay. Ed Sheeran, the Lumineers and fun. are some of my favorites right now, and they’ve all had big hits with songs that have substance and real instruments. I like it!

 

What music trend hurts your ears?

I don’t like to feel like I’m in a club when I’m in my car and I turn on the radio. Anything that ceases to be a song and just sounds like house music kind of stresses me out.

 

How do you live like a high roller when you're in Las Vegas?

Room service. I don’t care. I love it.

Taylor Swift leads a list of country’s hottest stars set to perform at the CMT Music Awards next month.

 

Swift, Miranda Lambert’s Pistol Annies, Luke Bryan, Hunter Hayes and Little Big Town are the first performers announced for the June 5 awards show.

 

Jason Aldean and Kristen Bell are set to host the fan-voted awards show when it’s broadcast live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

 

Lambert, Bryan and Eric Church are this year’s top nominees. Fans can vote in all categories at the music channel’s website through June 2. Six finalists for top honor video of the year will be announced at the top of the broadcast and fans can vote on a winner during the show.

 

More performers and presenters will be announced later.

For New Girl‘s relationship-centric May 14 finale, who better to cameo as a wedding guest than Taylor Swift — the music megastar who wrote the (song)book on love, break-ups, and everything in between? Swift cameos as a woman named Elaine. Though showrunner Liz Meriwether remains coy about what exactly brings Elaine to the nuptials of Cece (Hannah Simone) and Shivrang (Satya Bhabha), she admits the casting was no coincidence. “I’m a huge fan of hers,” she says. “I was fully geeking out about meeting [Taylor]. I didn’t go to meet her right away because I kind of had to compose myself — there’s a 14-year-old girl inside of me.” Apparently the feeling was mutual, Meriwether recalls: “She was quoting lines to us from the show. It was a really exciting night.”

 

Star Jake Johnson notes that Swift was “very good,” and jokes that Swift’s triple threat status was “a little bit frustrating. She came in and is really nice. It’s not an easy scene. There were probably 70 extras there — though I’m sure she performs to so much bigger [crowds] than that on a regular basis. She had, like, a little monologue and delivered it perfectly. Liz gave her alternative jokes and lines, she delivered them all perfectly. It was frustrating!”

 

Meriwether also compliments Swift, saying, “She kind of came and nailed it. We love bringing in guest stars, but we really try to make it feel like they’re part of the show and it’s not just stunt casting.” After Meriwether & Co. have given her punchline shout-outs and featured her song “22″ in previous episodes, this cameo brings the singer-songwriter full circle — with added value for fans of both:
